“This is such a great opportunity to take something special and make it wearable!” - Amanda Moore, Class Instructor
A fun workshop for beginners as well as advanced students! In this workshop, students will learn basic metalsmithing techniques such as sawing, filing, soldering, and bezel setting a stone while making a unique pendant.
Heidi Lowe Gallery will be hosting a Gem Show February 5-7, selling lots of unique, beautiful stones that would be perfect for this class! See post below.
8 Sessions, Thursdays, 6:-8:30 pm, Jan 21- March 11, 2021
This class will be an in-depth introduction to jewelry making. While making two class projects, students will learn the fundamentals of working with metal and designing pieces that begin to hone in on their own artistic voice. Techniques that will be taught include sawing, drilling, filing, forming with pliers and hammers, soldering, finishing, a stone setting, texturing, making jump rings, and more.
Previous jewelry making experience is not required. Copper will be provided for the first project. The materials fee will depend on the student’s individual project designs and discussed during class.
