These classes will take place on Mondays from 12:30-3 pm, unless noted otherwise. Each class will focus on a specific theme and set of jewelry-making skills. The Winter/Spring 2.5 Hour Classes schedule is as follows:

Each workshop is on Saturday, 10 am - 3 pm
This is the perfect class for any beach lover! You will learn how to make a ring and set a piece of beach glass in silver. You will learn techniques such as sawing, filing, soldering, and bezel setting. We will provide a selection of beach glass for you to choose from, but if you have a few favorite pieces that you love, we can figure out which one will work best for this project. Participants will wear their own handmade piece of jewelry out the door!
March 15-April 4, Mondays, 6-8:30 pm
This in-depth four-week class will explore Champleve enameling, the method of filling hollow spaces of metal with enamel. Enamel is a powdered glass that when placed in a kiln at high temperatures hardens into smooth, shiny glass! Each student will design and etch a piece of copper that will then be filled in with colored glass and made into a pendant.

A fun workshop for beginners as well as advanced students! In this workshop, students will learn basic metalsmithing techniques such as sawing, filing, soldering, and bezel setting a stone while making a unique pendant.

Heidi Lowe Gallery will host a spectacular Gem Show February 5th-7th. The trunk show will be open by appointment during the hours of 10 am-4 pm, Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
“We usually go to the annual international Tucson Gem Show, but this year we’re doing a Covid pivot and so excited to bring a part of the Tucson Gem show to SoDel at the gallery!”
The trunk show provides patrons, stone lovers, and students the opportunity to handpick stones from a wide variety of unique, beautiful options that normally wouldn’t be available locally. The Heidi Lowe team can also set any stones into custom jewelry.
8 Sessions, Thursdays, 6:-8:30 pm, Jan 21- March 11, 2021
This class will be an in-depth introduction to jewelry making. While making two class projects, students will learn the fundamentals of working with metal and designing pieces that begin to hone in on their own artistic voice. Techniques that will be taught include sawing, drilling, filing, forming with pliers and hammers, soldering, finishing, a stone setting, texturing, making jump rings, and more.
Previous jewelry making experience is not required. Copper will be provided for the first project. The materials fee will depend on the student’s individual project designs and discussed during class.

8 sessions, Mondays, 4:30-6 pm, January 11-March 1, 2021
This fun 8-week class, Thinking Through Metal, is for kids 11-13 years old. They will learn the basics of metalworking and explore ideas that intersect life and metal objects. Students will make a variety of wearable and non-wearable projects. It is a great way for kids to connect with each other, be creative, and work with their hands (and have a break from the screens) in a safe studio environment. The cost of the class includes the material fee. No experience necessary.

SET AN INTENTION for 2021 and RING IN THE NEW YEAR WITH US!
Throughout January, Heidi Lowe Gallery is offering Rings of Intention Classes, which are perfect for setting the stage for the new year.

During the Rings of Intention Class, students will take time to connect inward and learn to make their own silver rings. Each student will come up with a word of intention; a word that embodies what each student wants to cultivate, nourish and focus on in life as we move forward. The word of intention will be incorporated into a silver band ring that students will create from start to finish. Everyone will leave class with a wearable, handmade reminder of their intention.
